The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) International Roadcheck will take place May 4-6, 2021, a few months earlier than last year. Over that 72-hour period, CVSA-certified inspectors throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico will conduct roadside inspections on commercial motor vehicles and drivers in an effort to strengthen motor carrier, vehicle, and driver safety.

International Roadcheck is the largest targeted enforcement program for commercial motor vehicles in the world. During the three-day event, nearly 15 trucks or buses on average are inspected every minute across North America. Inspectors will be looking for critical vehicle and driver violations, and if any are found, then a vehicle or driver will be placed out of service until the identified issue has been resolved.

• Review the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria, the pass-fail benchmarks for inspections, to be sure both vehicles and drivers are compliant with regulations

• Continue to focus on operating within the Hours of Service (HOS)regulations as required
• Inspectors will check a driver’s operating credentials as well as other applicable documentation, so be sure to organize your paperwork in advance and keep these documents handy
